Semester 2, 2010 - new events!

Hi everyone,

We hope you had a great semester break and are refreshed for semester 2 :)

Given many requests by club members for meditation classes, we have organized a number of activities that focus on Buddhist meditation techniques. Please following the links to the interactive time-table to let us know your availability so we can select a day/time that suits most people.

Meditation Course.

Starting week 3 of semester 2, we plan to run an 8 week course on Buddhist meditation practice. Each session will be 2 hours long. The meditation classes will focus on Metta (Loving-Kindness) Meditation and Samadihi (Concentration) Meditation techniques. We will also learn how to make our own meditation cushions! :) .

Pureland Meditation

We will be visiting the Pure Land Learning Center (PLLC) to join them in their weekly Amitabha Buddha meditation practices. We will be guided in the following meditation practices;

1. Amitabha Sutra
2. Walking & Sitting Meditation.
3. Dedication of Merit (Short)

Date: Sunday 8th August
Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm

Lunch is after 12:00pm. PLLC members bring their own lunches, so please bring along some lunch if you like.

Transport: Those who would like a lift to the temple, please meet out the front of the Bookshop in the Agora at 9:10am, we will leave by at 9:20am and arrive just before 10:00am.

If you need transport please let us know.

The LTU Buddhist Society weekly get-together is a great opportunity to meet your fellow Buddhist bothers and sisters, to discuss Buddhism, future events and help each other in your daily practice. Please feel free to bring along some snacks to share.
